Watch Slipknot surprise release new instrumental, ‘Death March’

It’s been a wild 24 hours in Slipknot world, and things just keep getting wilder. This morning (June 8), the band posted a teaser video on their socials, directing fans to the website, youcantkillme.com.

There, a YouTube link connected to a new Slipknot instrumental, “Death March,”along with an accompanying, and appropriately creepy, Shawn “Clown” Crahan-directed video.

As to what it all means? In ‘Knot world, you never quite know. But you can watch the video above.

As previously reported, on June 7 Slipknot announced that the band had parted ways with longtime sampler and keyboardist Craig Jones, saying in a now-deleted social media post that they wished him “all the best for the future.”

Later that same day, the masked metallers kicked off their 2023 European tour at the Nova Rock Festival in Nickelsdorf, Austria (also without co-founding percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan, who has bowed out of the shows due to his wife’s health issues).

Despite all the turmoil within its ranks, the band put on a stellar performance at Nova Rock, raging through a 16-song set that included several deep cuts (“The Blister Exists” and “Purity,” both played for the first time since 2015, “Liberate,” played for the first time since 2016, and “Yen,” in its live debut), as well as introducing a new masked man in Jones’ place.
