COREY TAYLOR Says SLIPKNOT’s Unreleased ‘Look Outside Your Window’ Album Will Come Out In 2024

SLIPKNOT’s Unreleased “Look Outside Your Window” arriving in the near future says Corey Taylor
After generating considerable buzz over the past year, SLIPKNOT‘s much-anticipated yet elusive experimental album, “Look Outside Your Window,” has become a focal point of discussions involving frontman Corey Taylor and percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan. In a recent interview, Taylor has undergone a shift in his perspective regarding the 15-year-old project, now eagerly anticipating its upcoming release, which he anticipates to occur in 2024.

Earlier in the year, Clown had hinted at the possibility of unveiling the record in 2023, aligning with SLIPKNOT‘s contract conclusion with Roadrunner Records on April 1. On the contrary, Taylor had initially shown disinterest in bringing the material to light, citing the extensive attention it had garnered over the years and the weight of fans’ expectations as factors influencing his stance.

Curiously, it seems that both Taylor and Clown have now turned a corner, embracing the prospect of finally revealing the contents of the album.

One of the chief challenges has revolved around finding a suitable schedule. Taylor, juggling commitments between SLIPKNOT and his solo career, is on the verge of releasing his second solo album, “CMF2,” set to debut on September 15, accompanied by a series of tour dates scheduled both prior to and following the album’s launch.

Corey tells NME, “I was talking to Clown about it the other day and he goes, ‘One of the reasons it hasn’t come out is because you keep putting shit out which keeps conflicting with when I want to release it!’ I was like, ‘Fuck dude, why didn’t you tell me?’ He says, ‘Fuck, Taylor – you just got too much shit!’”

Though not providing intricate details, Taylor alludes to a tentative timeline for the album’s release. He reveals, “It seems like there’s a solid release date he’s working on, and I’ve assured him that I won’t put out anything that might disrupt that schedule. I’m thinking it’s going to be next year – at long last!”

“I hope people dig it but I honestly hope it never gets released because there are so many expectations about it now. It’s like that Wu Tang Clan album that only whathisfuck (Martin Shkreli) has a copy of. It’s almost better to just wonder,” Taylor said at the time.

Corey’s recent comments seem to say otherwise.

“I just went back and listened to all that stuff and it’s so dope and so different. People going into this thinking it sounds like ‘Slipknot’ Slipknot are so wrong. It doesn’t sound like anything Slipknot have ever done, that’s why it’s its own thing. To me, it really is the long-lost album. The music is so beautiful, it probably has some of my favorite melodies that I’ve done, and people are really going to dig it,” he enthuses, “Clown did a really good job.”

In the spring, Taylor downplayed his role in “Look Outside Your Window,” portraying himself as a “guest star” on the album. He admitted to possessing a decade-old version of the project, complete with an outdated mix, confessing uncertainty about the project’s release strategy and status.
